Lemme tell you a little story 'bout a man named Jay
Nice boy with a pretty face
Became sheriff of his town when his pop went underground
Gunned down by the outlaw Johnny Mace
Now Jay spent the better part of 18 years
Tryin' to put Mace in jail to rot
"Jay, I'm one tough sunuvabitch."
"Not anymore you're not."
Well Jay caught Mace one fateful day
High Noon just out the bar
Spurs glinting there in the sunlight's glare
Guns resting by his arms
"Mace you best come quietly;
(I'm sure) you know you're caught.
Just drop your gin; i'm bringing you in."
"Ha! Not anymore you're not."
Time seemed to stop there on the road
Those fighters stood and stared
Both dueled with the skill of a hundred men
But Jay was the one who cared
He waited 'til Mace took a blink
His gun rose up and shot
"You killed my Pa, you damn outlaw
Not anymore you're not."
